Negros Trade Fair Marks 40 Years of Championing MSMEs with SM Supermalls



The Association of Negros Producers (ANP), in partnership with SM Supermalls, officially launched BÚTLAK: The 40th Negros Trade Fair during a media preview at SM Aura. Marking four decades of championing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the landmark trade fair will run from September 22 to 27, 2026, bringing 178 homegrown brands from the Negros Island Region to the SMX Convention Center Aura.


The press event featured the debut of the official BÚTLAK promotional video alongside speeches from industry leaders, a curated food tasting, and previews of artisanal fashion, homeware, and crafts.

Media Launch Highlights & Executive Remarks

  • Focus on Enterprise Creation: ANP President Christina Gaston highlighted how four decades of community-led trade fairs have helped small local makers transition into sustainable, competitive enterprises.


  • Public-Private Partnership: SM Supermalls President Steven Tan emphasized how the SM for MSMEs initiative provides provincial creators with high-visibility market platforms to scale their businesses.

  • Culinary Heritage & Evolution: Negrense personalities including actor-restaurateur Joel Torre (JT’s Manukan), Chef JP Anglo, and Chef JJ Yulo led a tasting showcase, featuring culinary staples from established names like Bob’s Café, 21 Restaurant, Chicken House, El Ideal, Virgie’s Homemade Products, and Antonio’s Group.


  • Artisanal Fashion & Home Finds: Previews showcased sustainable footwear from Lakat Sustainables, island-style jewelry from Arête, hand-smocked garments from Ellege Handcrafted Fashion, and eco-luxury houseware from Hacienda Crafts, Tumandok Crafts Industries, Artisana Island Crafts, and NVC Foundation.


"Our roots are found in the traditions, skills, and stories handed down to us. Our blooms are the new ideas, new enterprises, and new generations emerging from those roots. After 40 years, Negros continues to bloom—and its brightest chapters are still ahead," stated Mary Anne Colmenares, NTF Chairperson and ANP Vice President.
